往き先を知って、生きる

生きている私のゴールはどこなのでしょう。ある子どもに「あなたは、これから何になるの？」と尋ねると、「大人になるの。」「その後は？」「おばあちゃん。」「その後は？」「骨になるの。」と、やりとりが続いたそうです。
私の人生のゴールが骨とは、悲しい、寂しいということより、不安で不安でたまらないことです。
仏教では、私たちの生きているこの世界を「此岸」（こちら側の岸）、お浄土の世界を「彼岸」（向こう側の岸）と呼び、私が人生を終える時、「此岸」から「彼岸」に渡っていくと説いています。ゴールは骨ではないと聞くと、悲しい、寂しいという気持ちはなくなります。しかし、本当に彼岸に往けるのかという不安が残ります。そのような私たちを必ず救うと願われたのが阿弥陀さまでした。その教えによって、最後の不安が取り除かれたのです。
「いく」は「往復の往」という字を書きます。再び戻ってくる働きがお経にはさらに説かれます。
人生の往き先を知って生きる生き方は、「報恩感謝」の生き方に自然となっていきます。
学校生活も、私の人生の一部です。学校生活が「報恩感謝」の生活となっていくと、一日一日、一瞬一瞬を大切にする生活を送るようになるでしょう。そうなれば、その先にある人生も「往き先」を知らずに生きる人生とは異なるものになるでしょう。
