宗教教育部

 

本校は浄土真宗の宗祖親鸞聖人のみ教えを建学の精神とし、116年の長きにわたり心の教育の実践に取り組んできました。宗教教育部でも「生徒が『お念仏』を称え心豊かに成長してほしい」という期待を持ち建学の精神の具現化に努めてまいりました。

今年4月に本校宗教部・聖歌隊の有志で結成された“アイドルグループ”「NUM-NUM GIRLS」は、本校の宗教教育の根幹である「お念仏」の正しいいただき方を平易な言葉であらわしたオリジナル曲を作成し、現代的、かつ普段お念仏にご縁のない方にも分かりやすい手法で広く発信してきました。さらに、「仏教離れ」が進んでいる昨今、幅広い世代の方々に仏教そのものについても身近に感じていただくことができればと、ご寺院の法要や依頼をいただいた地域の催事にも積極的に参加させていただきました。

本格的に活動を開始した8月以来、ありがたいことに、この試みに対して宗門関係の多くの皆様から力強いご支援をいただきました。また、曲を聴いてくださった方々、直接またはメディアを通じでパフォーマンスを見ていただいた方々、地域の方々から多くの励ましの声をいただきました。

しかし、一方で、活動の広がりとともに、心配な部分も見えてきました。そこで宗教教育部では、さまざまな情報が瞬時に拡散する現在の社会状況および、各方面からのご意見・ご指摘を踏まえ、今後の活動方針について検討をいたしました。その結果、今後も“アイドル”と謳って学外で広く活動（ステージ出演、メディア露出、情報発信等）をすることは、本校の意図する活動目的の如何に係わらず、メンバーである生徒の安全を損なう恐れがあるだけでなく、教育上の観点からも、さまざまに好ましくない状況を生じる可能性があるため、2015年10月25日（日）をもって、そのような形での活動は停止することといたしました。

これまでの活動を振り返り、なぜ「NUM-NUM GIRLS」が多くの方々から温かく受け入れていただいたのかを考えてみますと、確かに“アイドル”という謳い文句があったからこそ特に若い世代の方々から興味を持っていただけたものとは思います。しかし、実際に法要や催事の場で、メンバーの生徒たちが参拝者やお客さんと直接交流する姿を見てきますと、メンバーたちが一生懸命かつ楽しく何かを伝えようとしている部分が共感を呼んでいるのではないかと思います。そこが「NUM-NUM GIRLS」の最大の魅力だと感じています。“アイドル”という肩書きがなくなったからといって決してその魅力が失われることはないと思います。

「NUM-NUM GIRLS」の挑戦は、私たちが目指すべき世代を越えた「ご縁」づくりへの一つの道を示してくれたような気がします。

今後は、宗教部・聖歌隊内の“ご縁づくり”グループとして、宗派の「子ども・若者ご縁づくり推進室」とも連携し、学内およびご寺院をはじめ本校の関連団体・機関、また公益性の高い催事等にて活動を続けていくことといたします。なお、活動期間は2016年3月までと予定しております。
